Are you interested in the Tudor period?
Professor Ronald Hutton, who has always been a popular speaker at the society’s meetings, will turn his attention to the short reigns of Edward V1 and Mary, and the even shorter one of Lady Jane Grey, who came between the two. What did these monarchs achieve during their time in power?
Professor Hutton, of Bristol University, is a leading authority on history of the British Isles in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. His appearances on TV include the mini series “Professor Hutton’s Curiosities”.
Although, at present, indoor meetings are permitted under Covid regulations, to ensure the safety of all attending, both members and visitors are asked to book a seat in advance. Chairs will be socially distanced so that everyone will feel comfortable. There is no charge for members. Visitors are very welcome at £3 a head.
